Two of the most important rooms in a home are the kitchen and the bathroom. Your dream bathroom is just as much about function as design. In today’s post, I am sharing seven tips to help you create the bathroom of your dreams. The best part is you can do this no matter how big or small the space, or even if you are a renter.
Maximize Your Bathroom Space
Before we get into the fun of designing your dream bathroom it’s important to consider the function of the space. Will this space be used by guests? Is this his & hers master bathroom? Will the bathroom need to be kid-friendly?

Create Your Sanctuary
Think of the feeling you experience at your favorite spa, or luxury hotel. What makes it special? For me, I love the smell of fresh eucalyptus, the feeling of plush towels, and the indulgent toiletries. Bring these elements into your interior design.

Let’s Decorate!
Now that you have an idea of the function and the touches that are important to you it’s time to come up with a theme. When it comes to a bathroom there are no rules, you can go with the overall theme of your home or you can design it so that it transports the space into a completely different scene.

I would only warn that if this is a shared space, you consider not overwhelming your guests. Offer them an experience they will want to come back too.
Little Luxuries That Make a Big Difference in Your Dream Bathroom
When thinking of decorating your dream bathroom don’t miss the importance of your fixtures. Even if you are a renter, investing in an upgraded shower head can make your bath time a new and improved experience.

Also, one of my favorite bathroom quick switches that cost under $10 is a fabric shower curtain. Okay maybe I’m weird, but the cold plastic feel of the shower curtain sends chills up my spine. Not to mention the mold, soap scrum, and effect on the planet.

Speaking of saving the planet, my next investment is a bidet. After the toilet paper shortage I started to think there had to be a better way. Turns out it was invented in the 1960’s and has tons of health benefits.
Let There Be Light
Lighting can make or break the mood of any interior design and the bathroom is no exception. Choose lighting that fits the vibe of your space from moody & warm to crisp, bright white.

In Your Feelings
The key to creating a great space is by adding texture. Layering hard and soft textiles helps to create balance. I love mixing the bamboo containers and tray with the delicate linens and antiqued glass.
Bring in Nature
Adding plants and blooms instantly bring a clam to any space. If you’re like me and don’t have a window in your bathroom use faux or dried stems.
I love hanging dried eucalyptus in my shower for an instant spa-like aromatherapy session.
I would love to hear from you, what was your favorite dream bathroom tip? Let me know in the comments.
