Hello beautiful people! I’m back from Essence Festival in New Orleans, LA celebrating 25 years. Spoiler Alert: This year was the best yet!

In addition to being a fantastic travel experience; it was a testament to the importance of setting intentions for your life.

Preparing for Essence Fest, I believed that this trip would open doors. I prepared myself mentally for work & play, but most importantly, to make IRL connections.
We kicked the weekend off with a family tradition of having breakfast at Elizabeth’s. Known for down-home country classics with a NOLA twist it’s a hidden jewel; just a quick drive from the French Quarters across from the Crescent Park. Elizabeth’s is a bustling space hung with local art and a loft bar on the second floor.

Our favorite menu items are the Bayou Breakfast ( Fried Catfish, 2 Eggs any style and grits), Praline Bacon, Banana Foster Stuffed French Toast and the Smoked Pork Chops. There are no wrong choices at Elizabeth’s.
After breakfast, we headed to check-in at the Hilton Riverside New Orleans. The hotel located next to the Convention Center; which is the Essence Festival daytime hub for most of the festivities.
Speaking of festivities, Essence Festival took over the city.
There were so many events from the concerts to pop-up shops and brand parties everywhere. Have you ever wondered what happens at those private brand parties? Check out my behind the scenes post of the Secret Garden Party hosted by TXTR. by Cantu.
The weekend boasted celebrity sightings, great food and plenty of drinks. I made so many connections with other creatives and just good people.

I can’t until next year! For now, check out my vlog for the full experience and more BTS footage.
Go live life out loud and come back and tell your girl all about it!
I love you guys, be blessed! xoxo CanDe
